An exceptional Arts & Crafts insert with a striking hood of stylised chrysanthemums and bold foliage, undoubtedly a William Morris design. The flat plate and the panels give a wider than normal appearance and are ideal for those with a smaller fire opening. In excellent condition, complete with new back & grate. From a house in South West London.
Complimented by and attractive set of Original Aesthetic style tiles made by Sherwin & Cotton of Hanley. There are four different theme tiles incorporating vignettes with miniature Japanese scenes, decorated fans, stylised flowers and bamboo, all on a cracked ice background. Set of 12 tiles available at £1000.
